How Important is a Christmas Tree?
November 10th, 2007The Christmas tree seems to have been around as long as Christmas itself. A well selected and decorated tree can bring feelings to the home such as peace, unity, happiness, and warmth. Perhaps if December 25th were to roll around without a Christmas tree in the house, it wouldn’t be Christmas at all, it would just be another day in December.
Although that is quite a bold idea, there is evidence to back it up. I remember watching “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” as a little kid.
It invoked feelings of sadness and sheer terror to see the Grinch steal stockings and presents. However, the real blow was always when he took the Christmas tree. I knew that without a tree, there really would be no Christmas! When the tree was returned, Christmas was back.
It really is quite amazing how the right Christmas tree can make such a big difference during the holiday season. To both kids and adults, it is an important part of the winter season.
